In October 1915 the whole estate came up for auction, divided into 48 lots. New owners came in from Bristol and beyond, some tenants were able to buy the properties they rented, other tenants were able to remain in their dwellings under a new owner, but some were displaced having to move away from the village altogether or find new accommodation in the village. An exhibition capturing the sale and its impact on the village was shown at Leigh Court on 14 October 2015 to celebrate the centenary of the sale. The Boards from this exhibition, covering the Miles family, Leigh Court, the sale itself, and aspects of the village are set out here.
